CLEVELAND - Meteorologist Mark Johnson's rant during a recent forecast, over the Thunder-Heat NBA Championship game, has been remixed on YouTube.
Johnson began his forecast late the evening of June 21, talking about maybe seeing a little thunder, "but thunder's not the main thing here."
A few seconds later, Johnson realizes what he just said and his frustration erupts over the Miami Heat defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder, and LeBron James, once a beloved king in northeast Ohio, winning his first NBA Championship in nine years.
In the auto-tune on YouTube, created by user GoldDustRules, Johnson's initial "thunder's not the main thing here" kicks off the song. Then, the altered pitch and music focuses on Johnson's next comments: "No thunder? Son of a gun. Ya know, if we could've used some thunder, it was tonight! But no thunder. I'm on fire here, lots of heat!"
The original video has gone viral on ESPN, getting a whopping nearly 500,000 views. The remix isn't quite so strong, coming in at 1,400 clicks so far.
Hundreds of comments have been left about the video, described by many as "hilarious."
"We...hope the NBA will think twice the next time they allow a team to have a weather related name."
"We...think that television psychics would have the same problem if the Wizards were playing the Magic."
Though the auto-tune production value to the rant is nothing spectacular, compared to the viral "Bed Intruder" song, where a Huntsville, Alabama man saved his sister from an attacker, telling residents to "hide your kids, hide your wife," it still provides just as many laughs as hearing Johnson rant for the first time!
