VIDEO: Miami Heat’s LeBron James performs bad karaoke version of Michael Jackson

CLEVELAND - LeBron James may be a reigning NBA MVP, champion and SI Sportsman of the Year but he’s no "American Idol."

The South Beach star took to the stage at Miami Heat teammate Shane Battier’s “Battioke” charity event this week.

James certainly has fun as he busts some moves while performing Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You.” There won't be any lipsynching controversy though as you listen to James' vocals. As if one song isn’t enough, James is then joined by fellow star Dwayne Wade for a serenade about as romantic as an empty box of chocolates.

Musical elements aside, the karaoke was all in the name of a good cause. Proceeds from Battier’s event went to the Take Charge Foundation which helps give at-risk kids scholarships to attend college.

This isn’t the first time James has dabbled in song. Last year, he donned a wig and sang Rick James’ “Superfreak" at a charity event in China.
