Many Americans watching their purse strings would have no qualms giving up the internet, the phone and half a year of sex if it meant that their bills would be covered for one month, according to a Daily Mail report.
Independent research company, Toluna, surveyed about 1,000 Americans, asking them what they would sacrifice in exchange for a month free of expenses and it turns out that many were open to nixing popular pleasurable pastimes.
In general, 18 percent of Americans would give up 6 for six months---that’s 21 percent of the women and only 16 percent of the men.
When you compare that to television, dropping the TV habit was the top sacrifice that 25 percent of Americans were willing to make, but only for one month.
The sacrifice that got the least support was the internet. Only 14 percent were willing to ditch surfing the net for a month.
Twenty-one percent would stop using their cell phones for a month.
Thirteen percent of people said they would rather just pay their bills than have to sacrifice anything. Nine percent said they wouldn’t give up anything, but would be willing to gain 15 pounds to get their bills paid.
