The grandson of Warner Brothers co-founder Harry Warner is hoping for a "Casablanca" sequel and said a script has been written.
Cass Warner has given the green light for a sequel to the Oscar-winning silver screen classic. But one person connected to the 70-year-old movie is fighting the proposal. Humphrey Bogart's son, Stephen, is worried that a sequel would tarnish the reputation of the famous film.
Sources say the sequel script was written by the original "Casablanca" writer. Screenwriter Howard Koch penned it in 1980. Warner said the biggest concern at this point is finding actors worthy to fill the roles made famous by Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.
The sequel currently carries the title, "Return to Casablanca" but there is no final word on when, or if, it will make it to the big screen.
