PEORIA, Ariz. - The picture’s not fake; in fact, it’s about as real as they come.
On Oct. 9, Alicia Atkins of Peroria, Arizona, gave birth to her daughter, Nevaeh, via Caesarean section as her husband snapped a rare image: the unborn baby holding the doctor’s fingers.
“I just wanted to make sure I got the picture because it was so cool,” said Randy Atkins, the baby’s father.
Alicia posted the picture on Dec. 26 after she gave a print of the image to Dr. Allan Sawyer, her doctor, as a gift.
“I’ve never captured that picture before,” Dr. Sawyer said. “It’s really rare.”
Alicia has her own photography company, A Classic Pin-Up, in Glendale and told our sister station ABC15 (KNXV) that the image has had thousands of views on Facebook.
“I am in awe of this photo,” she writes on her Facebook page. “Something to remember forever.”
