CLEVELAND - Remember the car brand, Datsun? If not, you'll be hearing it again, because Nissan Motor Co. is bringing it back.
According to the Wall Street Journal , Nissan is offering a new economy car under the Datsun brand for $3,000.
However, it won't be available to everyone.
The economy vehicles will be offered to emerging markets, those countries formerly known as "third world countries." For that very low price, drivers will get four tires, a steering wheel and an automobile body, but no air or other unnecessary components.
The article in the WSJ reports that if the car is someday marketed in the U.S., it will cost much more than $3,000.
