WASHINGTON - Chad Ochocinco’s stats were down this season but he hasn’t slowed down one bit on his Twitter game.
The New England Patriots wide receiver is making headlines for tweeting with Speaker of the House John Boehner.
It all started Tuesday when Ochocinco was watching President Obama’s State of the Union Address. Ochocinco noticed an unsmiling man sitting behind the president. He found out it was Boehner – then took to Twitter.
Ochocinco tweeted the speaker asking if he was okay. Boehner responded by thanking him and wishing him good luck in the Super Bowl.
Boehner didn’t forget his own roots though. The congressman, a Bengals fan, also said “we’ll see you in the playoffs next year” and “#WhoDey.”
The two share a Cincinnati connection, as Ochocinco used to play for the Bengals.
They continued tweeting each other and Ochocinco tweeted to his more than three million followers “totally awesome that John Boehner just tweeted me."
