CLEVELAND - Could listening to Miley Cyrus actually make you more intelligent? A British scientist claims it’s true.
Dr. Emma Gray says listening to pop songs while studying has a calming effect on the brain that helps logical thought. In an interview with the Daily Mail , she said songs with 50 to 80 beats per minute allow the brain to learn and remember new fact easily.
Classical music with 60 to 70 beats per minute can help you on your next math test. Dr. Gray says students scored an average of 12 percent better on Math tests when they listened to classical music while studying.
She explained that music can put you in a better frame of mine to learn. Research shows students who listen to music actually do better in school than those who don’t.
