Michael Snell catches GIANT white sturgeon in Canada

A man fishing in Canada caught a massive white sturgeon weighing in at an estimated 1,100 pounds, according to an article popular on the internet Friday.
GrindTV.com said angler Michael Snell was fishing with his wife when he caught and released the giant fish on the Fraser River.

White sturgeon caught in the area usually weigh between 30 and 100 pounds, but the article said this catch might be the largest freshwater fish ever caught on a rod and reel in North America.
The fish, measuring at 12 feet 4 inches, is also believed to be over 100 years old, according to the article.
GrindTV.com said the world record for a white sturgeon is 468 pounds, but since Snell’s catch wasn’t weighed on a certified scale it won’t become an official world record.
