CLEVELAND - Cleveland police are asking for the public’s help in finding a person wanted in three different sexual assault cases.
Recently, the Cleveland division of sex crimes/child abuse detectives asked for assistance in locating and identifying a man wanted for sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman in December 2010.
Further investigation has revealed that the suspect from the 2010 rape case is also linked to two other violent rapes.
The DNA from the wanted man has been linked to two cold case investigations.
The first cold case investigation is a rape felonious assault that took place in the early morning hours on May 3rd, 1996, at Union Avenue and East 88th Street.
The other cold case is a rape that ended in murder on the morning of February 2nd, 1997, in the 3000 block of East 88th Street.
The suspect from the 2010 sexual assault is described as a black male in his late thirties-early forties, 5’6”, medium build, dark complexion, black beard with a gray patch and a scar or scratches on his cheek.
The 1996 and 1997 sexual assault suspect is described as a black male in his twenties, 5’7”, 140 – 145 pounds, and dark complexion.
The suspect in both the 1997 and 2010 cases is said to have been in possession of a handgun.
Anyone with information on the possible identity of this suspect is asked to call the Cleveland Division of Police Sex Crimes /Child Abuse Unit at 216.623.5630.
