Teen flown to hospital with stab wound after fight in Medina

MEDINA, Ohio - A fight between two teenage boys in Medina on Monday sent one of them being flown by helicopter to an area hospital.

The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of Brookland Drive.

Medina police said a 17-year-old boy was hit with a glass bottle and suffered major cuts to his neck and cheek. The victim was taken to Medina Hospital, and then transported to MetroHealth Medical Center for surgery.

According to police, a 15-year-old boy from Medina was arrested and taken to the Medina County Juvenile Detention Center. The teen faces charges of juvenile delinquency by reason of felonious assault.

The incident remains under investigation by the Medina Police Department.
