LORDSTOWN, Ohio - Several people were taken to the hospital after a fire broke out at the General Motors plant in Lordstown Friday night.
The incident happened at about 9 p.m.
A police dispatcher said the fire wasn’t very large, and only the area where the fire happened was evacuated. Firefighters extinguished the blaze a short time later.
The dispatcher said the people taken to the hospital were suffering from smoke inhalation.
A report from WYTV in Youngstown said the fire was possibly in the roof or ventilation system.
Only maintenance crews were at the plant at the time, since the plant is currently on shutdown for the holiday.
No other details have been released.
