PAINESVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A trio of burglaries on Sunday has the sheriff's department in Lake County on the lookout for the thieves.

The first target was a home on Lee Road. The homeowner called the Lake County Sheriff's Department shortly after 2:30 p.m. to report someone had broken into her home. The burglar reportedly forced open a rear door, but the woman said nothing appeared to be missing.

Not even 10 minutes later, the sheriff's department got another call of a burglary. An investigation revealed the thief, who got away with jewelry, came in the Park Road home through an unlocked rear door between 6:40 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. The jewelry, which was taken from the master bedroom, was valued at $250.

A third incident was reported just after 5 p.m. on Hale Road. A woman told authorities someone broke into her house between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. She said someone forced open a rear door and took a jewelry box from her master bedroom. The jewelry inside was valued at $500.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office asks if anyone saw suspicious activity in the areas to call the department at (440) 350-5506. Tips can be made anonymously.
