STOW, Ohio - A suspicious package that shut down streets in Stow turned out to be a box of used children’s toys.
Stow police said they were called to the BP gas station on Kent Road in Stow, just after 11 a.m. Tuesday. Police said a box, wrapped up in duct tape, was sitting right next to a gas pump.
The area was evacuated and several streets were blocked off, while police, fire and the Summit County bomb squad investigated the package.
Using a robot, the bomb squad opened the package around 1 p.m. and found the box was full of used kid’s toys.
The streets were reopened shortly after.
