MENTOR-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio - Preliminary autopsy results show that a bartender found dead near the bar where she worked was stabbed, strangled and beaten.
Lake County Deputy Coroner Mark Komar says Saturday the bartender, 49-year-old Ann McSween, of Mentor, died from multiple stab wounds, including one in her neck. He described the homicide as "a horrific killing."
Mentor-on-the-Lake police said McSween was the last one to leave Mario's Lakeway Lounge at about 3 a.m. Friday. Police said she had restocked the bar and washed glasses before clocking out.
The bar owner called police about six hours later when an employee at a nearby boat yard found her body in a wooded area.
Authorities haven't named any suspects and no charges have been filed.
