SANDUSKY, Ohio - Cedar Point announced Friday that its new ride ‘WindSeeker’ will not be ready in time for the park’s 2011 opening.
The amusement park told fans via its Twitter feed (@CedarPoint) shortly after 10 a.m.
“Our new ride, WindSeeker, will not be ready for opening day on May 14th. We are working hard to get it ready as soon as possible!” said the Twitter posting.
Cedar Point said “unseasonable weather” caused construction delays in the project.
This is the second year in a row the park has had delays in opening a new ride for the season. Last year, the water ride 'Shoot the Rapids' opened a month late because its boats didn't fit properly and had to be modified.
No exact date has been set for the opening of WindSeeker. The ride will spin riders 300 feet above the ground at speeds reaching 30 mph.
