BEREA, Ohio - Oktoberfest is in full swing Labor Day weekend at the Berea fairgrounds. The beer is flowing and the smells of German food fill the air.
Roving polka bands play on the midway and in the main tent along with a Bavarian group featuring traditional German dances. This year they have a live glockenspiel were they hold a celebrity bead toss every hour. This is a tradition for the Pirnat family after spending years in Munich. Their kids came dressed in traditional German attire and ready for fun.
"We’ve got everything from the wiener dog races, we got the beer garden, we got the main tent with the polka bands, we have different cover bands at night, we have the Cleveland pop orchestra Sunday at seven, and Monday we have the air force band." said the Oktoberfest marketing director David Toth.
Oktoberfest runs throughout the Labor Day weekend and offers free parking. Two dollar off discount tickets can be purchased online here: http://clevelandoktoberfest.com/
