ROOTSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Ravenna post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said one person was killed in a crash on I-76, west of State Route 44, between Brimfrield and Rootstown.
The accident occured Saturday at 3:32 p.m.
The OSHP said the victim, 57-year-old Jeanne Gary of Stow, Ohio, was traveling westbound on I-76 when she turned around in a paved area that is designated for emergency vehicles only. Gary then entered the right eastbound lane when she was hit by a semi truck.
Gary was pronouced dead on the scene.
The semi truck driver, 50-year-old Namden Singh Mann of Phoenix, Arizona, and his passenger, 48-year-old Jagtar Singh Dhillon of Avondale, Arizona, were not injured.
Troopers said no charges have been filed and the crash remains under investigation.
