YOUNGSTOWN, Oh - An Ohio congressman is describing photos of Osama bin Laden's corpse as "pretty gruesome."
U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan was among the select members of Congress who have been allowed to see the death photos of the al-Qaida leader. The Niles Democrat is a member of the House Armed Services Committee.
Ryan tells The Vindicator newspaper of Youngstown that the pictures show bin Laden's body from different angles shortly after he was killed, as his body was being cleaned, wrapped and prepared for burial at sea.
The CIA has allowed members of the House and Senate Intelligence and Armed Services committees to see the photos in a secure room at the agency's headquarters in Virginia.
Ryan says the photos shouldn't be made public because their release could lead to violence.
