WOOSTER, Ohio - A Wooster man wanted on murder charges was arrested in Mississippi on Tuesday.

Lashaun Reed, 23, shot and killed Clifford Johnson, 21, in the front yard of a house on East North Street on Dec. 10, U.S. Marshals said.

At the time of the shooting, Reed was out on bond after police said he stabbed two people in June.

Marshals, with the help of other local law enforcement, tracked Reed to Greenville, Mississippi, where he was renting a room at a boarding house. At about 4 p.m. Tuesday, he was arrested without incident when he was found hiding in a closet.

"Great job by our investigators in Ohio and by the officers in Mississippi, working together to locate and safely apprehend this dangerous fugitive. This is a fine example of what we can accomplish working with our fugitive task force network across the nation,” U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said, in a news release on Tuesday.

Anyone with information about a wanted fugitive should call the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 1-866-4-WANTED. Tips can remains anonymous.
