CANAAN TOWNSHIP, Oh. - At least one person is dead and seven others injured in a serious crash in Wayne County.
Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Pleasant Home Road and State Route 3 (Cleveland Road) in Canaan Township.
A total of 8 people were involved in the crash, 3 in a red vehicle and 5 in an SUV. One victim was declared dead at the scene, 3 were flown to area hospitals by helicopters and 4 others were taken to area hospitals by EMS.
Investigators on scene said the crash originally appeared to be head-on, but now they're re-evaluating as the investigation continues.
Troopers said the intersection remains closed until further notice while their crews continue to work at the scene.
