ORRVILLE, Ohio - A reported tornado touched down in Wayne County as severe weather rolled through northeast Ohio Wednesday afternoon.
Video sent to NewsChannel5 by Bob Howard shows what looks like a funnel cloud making contact with the ground. Nancy Howard said she saw it as she looked out toward State Route 30 between Riceland and Apple Creek.
The roof was torn off a home in Orrville from the reported touchdown. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said no one was inside the damaged home was in the 10000 block of McQuaid Road but a family does live there. Three pets were saved.
The National Weather Service said law enforcement reported the tornado hit near US 30 and Carr Road near Riceland at 3:14 p.m.
