DOYLESTOWN, Ohio - Doylestown police were involved in a lengthy pursuit early Tuesday morning that ended in Akron.
According to officers, the chase started on State Route 585 in Doylestown around 2:30 a.m. and ended at Harcourt Drive and West Market Street in Akron around 3 a.m.
The suspect was driving most of the way with a damaged left front suspension and flat tire on his SUV during the chase.
The SUV left skid and drag marks along most of the pursuit route. The marks left on West Market Street show that the suspect was driving on the wrong side of the road at times.
Police said the man ran from the SUV but was arrested after a short foot chase.
Officers did say they found illegal drugs inside the SUV.
The SUV was towed and the suspect taken to jail.
No information about what started the chase was available.
Officers from Copley, Bath, Fairlawn and Akron assisted Doylestown with the pursuit.
