CLEVELAND - Two northeast Ohio communities have been named as best communities for young people to live. Hudson and Medina both made the annual list of the nation’s top 100 best communities for young people.
Hudson has made this list three times. It was chosen because it makes youth a priority by providing quality education, community service programs and health initiatives.
Medina is a first-time winner. It was selected because it has a number of programs in place to ensure its youth grow up healthy and prepared for life after graduation.
A panel of education and civic leaders selected the winners from large cities to small rural communities. All of them are dedicated to providing healthy and safe environments for young people.
They are also committed to raising graduation rates. This year’s 100 winners have an average high school graduate rate of nearly 80 percent.
