AKRON, Ohio - Thousands of people are running in the 10th annual Akron marathon Saturday morning.
Organizers expected a record-setting 15,000 participants for the race, which began at 7 a.m.
Participants could choose from the full marathon, the half marathon or the five-person relay. There was also a kids fun run, for participants younger than 14 years old.

NewsChannel 5’s own Bob Jones is running in the five-person relay on Saturday.
The first Akron marathon took place in 2003, when 3,775 runners competed.
