AKRON, Ohio - An Akron teen was arrested after police say he took a loaded handgun to school on Wednesday.

The incident happened at Kenmore High School on 13th Street SW at about 8 a.m.

After receiving a few tips about a gun, the principal and the school resource officer brought the 17-year-old into the office. Akron police said the teen had a loaded .25 caliber handgun in his pocket.

He was taken into custody before other students were allowed in the building, police said.
