AKRON, Ohio - Akron police arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a man outside a bar early Saturday morning.
A fight broke out in the parking lot of the Old Haunts Tavern at 1527 East Market St. at about 12:30 a.m. Police said 24-year-old Richard A. Coryell suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was found on the sidewalk.
At about 6 p.m. Monday, officers and the U.S. Marshals Office Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested 20-year-old Anthony T. Hill, Akron. He was spotted leaving a house on East Avenue and was taken into custody without incident, police said. Officers followed-up on a tip and did hours of surveillance to track him down.
Hill was charged with murder and felonious assault, then booked into the Summit County Jail.
During his arraignment in Akron Municipal Court on Tuesday, Hill's bond was set at $1 million.
