NORTON, Ohio - A Metro Parks official confirmed one woman is dead after her car went into the water at Silver Creek Park on Tuesday.
Our photojournalist at the scene saw authorities pull the body from the water.
Park staff, Norton police and a park visitor tried to save the woman, but their efforts weren't successful.
Norton police have the park closed to investigate the drowning.
Police are describing the incident, which happened near the south dock before the bridal trail parking lot around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, as an accident.
The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office said the victim was Kathleen Henline, 62, of Norton.
