TWINSBURG, Ohio - Nina/Michelle Salon in Twinsburg hosted a cut-a-thon Sunday to benefit Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut where 20 kids and 7 adults were murdered.

All money raised at the cut-a-thon will be sent directly to the Newtown Savings Bank. The bank will then distribute the funds to the families of the loved ones who were lost and also the school.

Hair cuts for the cut-a-thon, which ran from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., required a minimum donation of $27, the amount signifying the number of lives lost in the horrific tragedy, including the shooter's mother.

Part-owner Michelle Koelliker said 20 percent of all retail sales will also go to the Sandy Hook benefit fund.

When the event was finished, they raised $1,800 for the victim's families.

If you weren't able to get to the event Sunday, but still want to make a donation, you can make a check payable to Newtown Savings Bank and mail it to Nina/Michelle Salon and Spa -- 9224 Darrow Rd. -- Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.
