Massillon man shoots his wife in ICU at Akron General

AKRON, Ohio - A 65-year-old Massillon woman has been shot by her husband in an Akron hospital.
Akron police say 66-year-old John Wise walked into the intensive care unit at Akron General Medical Center just before 9p.m. Saturday.
According to police, Wise, who was armed with a gun, went to his wife Barbara's room and shot her.
There was a doctor in the room at the time of the incident. The doctor was not injured.
A hospital security guard was able to get the gun away from the man.
Wise, who has been married to Barbara for 45 years, has been booked into the Summit County Jail and charged with attempted aggravated murder.
Barbara Wise had been admitted to Akron General a few days ago with a life-threatening condition.
