BARBERTON, Ohio - Barberton police arrested a man wanted out of Texas on Thursday during a traffic stop.
Ptl. Chuck Kulig was keeping an eye on traffic near 27th Street NW and South Avenue Thursday afternoon when he saw a gray Oldsmobile roll through a stop sign, police said.
Ptl. Kulig pulled over the car and found that the driver, 39-year-old Jaland R. Finney, of Akron, had several license suspensions.
Barberton police said the patrolman also discovered that Finney was a wanted fugitive in Texas, where he violated his parole on a bank robbery charge. The U.S. Marshals were looking for Finney to extradite him to Texas. He was also wanted for domestic violence in Akron, police said.
Finney was taken into custody without incident.
