Man fires gun during First Merit Bank robbery in Akron

AKRON, Ohio - A bank robber shot the wall behind a teller at a First Merit Bank in Akron, police said.
The robbery happened at about 3:32 p.m. Monday at the bank on Merriman Road.
Akron police said the man, who was wearing a yellow, reflective vest, demanded money then fired one shot into the wall. The teller handed over an unknown amount of cash.
The robber had on a black ski mask and black boots. He was about 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 10 with a medium build, and was carrying a black semi-automatic pistol and a drawstring bag, police said.
