AKRON, Ohio - A man robbed an Akron bank Friday afternoon, claiming he had a gun and a bomb.
The robbery happened at about 12:10 p.m. at the PNC Bank in the 100 block of East Exchange Street, which is right by the University of Akron.
According to the Akron Police Department, a man in his mid-20s told the teller he had a bomb and demanded money. He then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect was about 5 foot 8 and weighed 170 pounds. He was wearing a black North Face jacket, blue sweatpants and a black ski cap, police said.
