Man knocked down, robbed 96-year-old Akron woman, police say

AKRON, Ohio - A 96-year-old Akron woman was pushed down and robbed, and police are looking for the suspect.

Akron police said Daniel Spiegel, 41, knocked of the door of a 96-year-old woman and asked if he could come in from the cold on Wednesday.

When the woman wouldn’t let him in, Spiegel kicked in the door and forced the woman to the floor, police said. He also took money from the elderly woman’s purse.

The victim was not seriously injured.

Spiegel is wanted for aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary. His last known address is on Coventry Street in Akron.
