NEW FRANKLIN, Ohio - A Summit county man was rushed to the hospital after being rescued from a trailer fire Thursday night.
New Franklin fire officials told NewsChannel5 the fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. at a mobile home on East Buddy Street. It's part of the Rex Hill Trailer Park.
Paramedics rushed the man, who police are only describing as “an older male,” to Akron City Hospital. His current condition is unknown.
New Franklin fire officials said the blaze began in the man’s trailer and spread, causing heat damage to two neighboring trailers before being extinguished.
No one else was hurt.
New Franklin police and fire responded to the call along with fire crews from Barberton, Coventry Township, and the Village of Clinton.
A neighbor of the trailer park submitted photos to newsnet5.com after hearing what he believed was a loud explosion.
New Franklin fire officials have yet to determine the fire’s cause. An investigation is ongoing.
