BARBERTON, Ohio - The man hit by a train and killed in Barberton on Monday has been identified.
The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office said 37-year-old Jason Strickland, of Akron, was struck by a CSX train near State Street and Coventry Road. His death was ruled an accident.
Barberton police said the man was sitting on the track and went to gather his belongings when he was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene just before 2 p.m.
