SAGAMORE HILLS, Ohio - Park rangers are investigating after a man fell to his death at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Sagamore Hills.

According to a news release from the National Park Service, rangers received a report at about 11 p.m. Wednesday of a man falling into the Cuyahoga River near the State Route 82 Bridge.

The body of Scott Bickel, 21, from North Royalton was found soon after rangers were called to the scene. An autopsy will be performed on Bickel Thursday.

Investigators closed off the area around the SR 82 dam, which is north of the Station Road Bridge Trailhead. This included sections of the Ohio & Eric Canal Towpath Trail, but the NPS said all areas have since reopened at about 5 a.m. Thursday.

Agencies involved in the investigation include NPS, Cleveland Metroparks, Sagamore Hills Police Department and the Northfield Center Fire Department.
