AKRON, Ohio - A man robbed an Akron bank on Wednesday by passing a note to the teller saying he had a gun.
The robbery happened at about 5:40 p.m. at the First Merit Bank on Brittain Road.
The man, who appeared to be in his mid-30s, gave a note to a bank employee and requested big bills, FBI special agent Vicki Anderson said. He implied he had a gun, but no injuries were reported.
The robber was wearing blue jeans and an un-tucked blue and white plaid shirt. Anderson said he had a goatee and sunglasses on top of his head. He was between 6 foot and 6 foot 4, and weighed more than 200 pounds.
He was seen leaving in a four-door sedan, driving through the neighboring Walgreens parking lot.
Anyone with information should contact the FBI at 216-522-1400.
