Jury finds Barberton man guilty of kidnapping, raping 86-year-old woman

AKRON, Ohio - A Barberton man was found guilty of raping and kidnapping an 86-year-old woman.
On Friday, a Summit County jury convicted 31-year-old Joseph R. Litten on both first-degree felonies, Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh said.
Litten sexually assaulted the 86-year-old acquaintance on July 16. Authorities linked him to the crime using DNA on the woman’s clothing. The victim identified him as her attacker and testified during the trial.
Litten will be sentenced on Jan. 23.
