GREEN, Ohio - A former drama instructor at Green Middle School has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with being caught in a car with a teen girl.

Court records show 27-year-old Jason Mazan pleaded guilty Aug. 15 to sexual battery, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and falsification charges. He was initially charged with importuning.

Sentencing for Mazan is set for Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. Prior to that hearing, records show he'll undergo a psycho-sexual evaluation.

According to investigators, A Summit County sheriff's deputy noticed a car parked behind on business on Massillon Road in Green on April 7 at about 1:30 a.m. The deputy checked it out and found Mazan and a 14-year-old girl – both partially clothed – in the back seat.

Green Local Schools Superintendent Michael Nutter told NewsChannel5 at the time of his arrest that Mazan was hired part-time as a drama support coach in December under a contract. Nutter said the district has fired Mazan.

"He's no longer allowed anywhere near our campus," said Nutter.

Nutter said Mazan had a license to be a substitute teacher and occasionally subbed at the school.
