Former Green assistant drama teacher sentenced to 18 months in prison

GREEN, Ohio - A former Green assistant drama teacher has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for having sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl.
Jason Mazan, 28, of Canton, pleaded guilty to attempted sexual battery, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and falsification on Aug. 15.
On April 7, Mazan was found in his parked car with a partially-clothed 14-year-old girl.
Mazan was also labeled a Tier III sex offender, which means he must register his address with the sheriff’s office after being released from prison.
Green Local Schools fired Mazan after his arrest. He had been working as an assistant drama instructor since Dec. 2011.
