FAIRLAWN, Ohio - A Fairlawn teen has been charged with animal cruelty for allegedly leaving a puppy in a car parked in direct sunlight in 81-degree heat.
Our news partners at Fairlawn Patch report officers found the windows of the car cracked about an inch but said the dog was panting and whining in a carrier during the June 26 incident.
A police report said the owner was found in the pool area 24 minutes after officers arrived and admitted he had been there about an hour and a half.
Officers found water in the car but outside of the dog’s cage.
