AKRON, Ohio - The Summit County OVI Task Force caught four people for during under the influence during two St. Patrick’s Day checkpoints.
Nearly 800 cars passed through the sobriety checkpoint on West Market Street in Akron, while more than 1,400 passed through the one on Manchester Road in Coventry Township.
The task force said that the person providing the lowest breath sample had a blood-alcohol content of .166. The highest was .280, which is 3.5 times the legal limit.
Several people were arrested for driving under a suspension, five on drug-related charges and one for an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
Five cars were impounded.
