CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio - An investigation that began in July of 2012 has ended with a Cuyahoga Falls caretaker charged with stealing $75,000 from an 87-year-old man.
According to the Summit County Sheriff's Office, they initiated an investigation with the Adult Protective Services regarding the financial exploitation.
Deputies said the investigation revealed that Deborah Ramoz, 59, had stolen approximately $75,000 over a 1.5 year period from the elderly man.
The money was used to buy 130 gemstones from California, according to authorities.
On Jan. 17, Ramoz was arrested and charged with theft from the elderly. She's currently behind bars at the Summit County Jail.
On Jan. 18, a search warrant was executed at Ramoz’s Cuyahoga Falls home where deputies said they found numerous containers of gemstones.
