CLEVELAND - A Cleveland cop is behind bars after she was pulled over Sunday for allegedly driving drunk and speeding in Barberton.
The Wooster post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Melanie Wilson, 33, was stopped on Eastern Road around 3 a.m. for speeding. Troopers said she was going 53 mph in a 35 mph zone. During the stop, they could smell alcohol and authorities arrested Wilson for OVI.
Her blood-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit, at .171.
Wilson did tell troopers she had her loaded gun inside her car and that she was a police officer for Cleveland.
Wilson is currently behind bars in the Summit County Jail.
