AKRON, Ohio - A motorcyclist was injured during a crash involving a car on Interstate 77 in Akron Wednesday night.

The Green Fire Department said paramedics took the victim to Akron City Hospital.

The ramp from I-77 south to Arlington Road and Arlington Road were closed for a couple of hours while deputies investigated the crash. The area reopened to traffic at 11:30 p.m.

The rider of the motorcycle, 47-year-old James McFarland, was transported to Akron City Hospital where he is currently listed in serious condition. At this time, his injuries do not appear to be life threatening, the Summit County Sheriff said.
