Burglar in ski mask punches Akron woman, she fights back

AKRON, Ohio - A 22-year-old Akron woman fought off a burglar during an incident early Friday morning.

Just before 2 a.m., the woman woke up to a man wearing a ski mask inside her East Voris Street home, Akron police said. The burglar punched the woman, but she fought back, causing the suspect to flee.

The woman suffered minor scratches on her neck and was treated by paramedics at the scene. Police said nothing was taken.
