BARBERTON, Ohio - Authorities in Barberton have arrested four people in connection to a North Canton man's murder in January.

An investigation into the man's death led police to the suspects over the weekend.

John Yanik, 52, was arrested and charged with murder. Stephen Batdorf, 46, Paul Wright, 46, and Trisha Copley, 22, were all arrested and charged with tampering with evidence in connection to the crime.

Police said the body of John Smith, 36, was found in Conotton Creek on Somerdale Road in Tuscarawas County on Feb. 8. According to authorities, he was murdered inside a home in the 1800 block of Turkeyfoot Lake Road on or about Jan. 4.

The investigation is ongoing.

All four suspects are behind bars in the Summit County Jail on $250,000 bond.
