Barberton caregiver jailed for allegedly stealing, replacing patient’s medications with animal drugs

BARBERTON, Ohio - A Barberton caregiver is behind bars after allegedly stealing her 77-year-old patient’s medications and replacing them with veterinary medications, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s office.

Amy Williamson, 50, has been charged with tampering with drugs, theft and assault following the investigation of the incident this month.

A Summit County Sheriff’s inspector said the victim got sick after consuming the wrong medications supplied by Williamson.

Williamson has been booked into the Summit County Jail.
