TWINSBURG, Ohio - Regency Windows officially announced on Thursday that it has closed its doors for good.
Last month, several consumers contacted NewsChannel5 Troubleshooter Joe Pagonakis about the Twinsburg-based company, saying their calls were not being returned and appointments were not being kept.
One woman said she paid more than $1,000 for a new sliding glass door, but workers never showed up to install it.
“I think it’s disgusting somebody would do that,” Lueatta Arotin said. “What they did was just wrong.”
“Regency Windows Corporation regrets to report that it has ceased business and its assets are under the control of its secured lender, Roynat Business Capital, Inc. of Charlotte, North Carolina,” said a statement from attorney Roger Stewart’s office.
Stewart said the company had been trying to work out a deal with the bank for the last two months over a matured loan. Since no agreement could be reached, the bank took control of Regency’s assets.
According to the attorney, complaints and concerns about Regency Windows purchases to be sent to the Consumer Protection Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
“Consumers should contact the Ohio AG in regards to their complaints and let the Ohio AG take them up with the Bank as to who has priority - the consumers or the bank,” Stewart said.
